Susan Mudd, Licensed Nutritionist - photo Salon Serein is pleased to be affiliated with Licensed Nutritionist Susan Mudd, CNS, LD who practices within our office at 208 Post Rd. West in Westport. As a board certified Clinical Nutritionist, Susan specializes in several health related conditions including weight and cholesterol management, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, infertility and hormonal issues. She believes that a road map and baseline is important in developing a plan for optimal health and appearance. Susan’s primary goal is to optimize a patient’s diet and then, working with the patient’s primary care physician, to develop a sustainable and successful plan of action.

Nutrition can have an important effect upon both facial and body aesthetics and Susan works closely with Dr. O’Connell, with the skin-care specialist and with the other staff members at Salon Serein to optimize our patients’ appearance both before and after aesthetic procedures.

According to Mudd, “it’s amazing how many people believe that they are taking the right steps toward eating well yet their blood sugar fluctuates or they complain of fatigue and insomnia. I strive to educate my patients on how balancing blood sugar, eliminating food sensitivities and fine-tuning diet can positively affect so many different aspects of their health, especially energy and vitality.”

Susan holds a Masters Degree in Human Nutrition and a certification as a Nutrition Specialist from the American College of Nutrition. She is also certified by Shapedown, an organization that specializes in child and adolescent obesity counseling. Prior to relocating to Fairfield County, Susan practiced in the Washington, D.C. area where her work included speaking engagements with the National Institutes of Health, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
